Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 26, 2026

This policy explains what information Tidal Takes ("we," "us," "our") collects when you visit tidal-takes.com or use our membership, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using the site, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us directly, what's collected automatically, and what we get from the services we use to run the site.

Information you provide directly:

  • Name and email address when you create a member account

  • Billing information when you subscribe (processed securely by our payment provider — see below; we do not store your full card details ourselves)

  • Any information you send us through the contact form or email, including your message and, where relevant, your Instagram handle or account email

Information collected automatically:

  • Log data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited

  • Usage data such as which collections and clips you view or download

  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4)

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your membership account

  • Process payments and send billing receipts

  • Give you access to the member library and enforce membership terms

  • Respond to your questions and support requests

  • Send service-related emails (billing confirmations, access issues, changes to this policy)

  • Send occasional updates about new clips or collections, if you've opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time

  • Understand how the library is used so we can improve it

  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our membership terms

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third-party services we use

Tidal Takes is built on a small number of trusted services that each process certain data on our behalf. We choose providers who maintain their own strong privacy and security practices.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on their platforms.

4. Cookies and tracking

Like most websites, we use cookies — small files stored on your device — to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. This may include analytics cookies that help us see which pages and clips are popular.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect your ability to stay logged in or use certain features of the member library.

5. When we share information

We share information only in these circumstances:

  • With service providers listed in Section 3, to the extent needed for them to perform their function

  • To comply with the law, such as responding to a subpoena, court order, or legal process

  • To protect rights and safety — for example, to investigate suspected fraud, abuse of our licence terms, or threats to Tidal Takes or others

  • In a business transfer — if Tidal Takes is acquired or merges with another company, member information may transfer as part of that deal. We'd notify members if this happens.

We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your membership is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you resubscribe or for legal and accounting purposes. Billing records are retained as required by tax and accounting law. If you'd like your account data deleted sooner, contact us (Section 12) and we'll do so unless we're required to retain it.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of your information

  • Object to or restrict certain processing

  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

  • Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time (use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us)

If you're a resident of the EU/UK, you may have rights under the GDPR. If you're a California resident, you may have rights under the CCPA. Contact us using the details in Section 12 to exercise any of these rights, and we'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including relying on providers like Stripe and Squarespace who maintain industry-standard security practices. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

Tidal Takes is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

10. International visitors

Tidal Takes is operated from The Bahamas. If you access the site from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in The Bahamas or wherever our service providers operate. By using the site, you consent to this transfer.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify members by email. Continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

12. Contact us

If you have questions about this policy or want to exercise any of your rights, please contact us.
